I’ve been away for six days visiting my family in Canada so today’s post is short.
As a matter of fact, I’m going to make you do all the work
but I promise it will be fun. When fellow bloggers Tameri Etherton, Jillian Dodd and Jenny Hansen did their linky love posts I had a blast and I think today is a perfect day for a mid-February boost. Here’s how it works:
1) Tell us about a blog post, blogger or person who has rocked your world with their words of wisdom. Tell us who and why you chose them.
AND
2) Tell us about a favorite post or article that you’ve written that’s near and dear to your heart.
Leave some links and let her rip!
So, who’s rocked my world with their words of wisdom? Choosing one is difficult!
For people who know me well, they know that confidence or lack thereof:) is one of my big issues. I’ll be humming along merrily and suddenly fear hits me like one of those man-made waves at the Water Park. Can I write this book? Can I pursue my writing dreams? Am I smart enough? Brave enough?
To the rescue; my upbeat friend and blogging classmate Barbara MacDowell’s post Running Towards What You Fear AND my wise editor and friend Lorin Oberweger’s guest post at YA Muses, Do You Write? Read them and be inspired to keep going!
As for an inspirational post that I’ve written, I’d have to say Portrait of A Struggling Artist the story behind the story of Jack Vettriano’s art is one of my favorites posts. He simply refused to give up.
Now it’s your turn!
If you don’t have a blog, or you’re not a writer that’s ok too — tell us about someone who’s made a difference in your life or who’s captured your imagination with their words, art or photography. It’s all good here!
Promote yourself and promote someone else. Simple.
Let’s chase the winter blues away and SHINE!
Have fun!
~Kate~

Love this!
I am always inspired by August McLaughlin’s blog posts.

And of course I’m always entertained by Natalie Hartford’s posts!

A couple of posts I’m proud of? Probably the one I did on miscommunication. It was a raw look at what happens when something is misheard. It was painful to write and then post, but cathartic as well.
Also, my interview with Angela Wallace got the most hits of any other post and that made me SO happy. She’s a fabulous woman and writer and I’m all about sharing the love and promoting others.
Are you sure you get self-conscious? I view you as one of the most together and confident women I know.
I hope your visit with family was super fabulous!
Ha! We’re on the same wavelength Tameri! See my comments to Natalie. I’m also going to include all my WANA#711 friends among the inspirations in my life and I mean that with every fiber of my being.
Your post on miscommunication was excellent and hit me on a visceral level. Everyone finds themselves misunderstood at some point in their life but you’ve paid a high price. You were very brave to lay it out on the page and allow us to learn from you. I was so proud of you! You SHINE Tameri!
I’m glad you see me as self-confident, lol but I have my days when I question everything I do, say and write. Just ask my poor husband. I guess I could say my best quality is that I’m persistent. Or maybe that’s my worst quality. LOL
I gotta say I was simply blown away by August McLaughlin’s Beauty of a Woman Blogfest and all the incredible posts women across the blogosphere wrote,
http://augustmclaughlin.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/beauty-of-a-woman-blogfest/
It inspired me and fired me up. It moved me to tears and made me laugh. It was by far one of the most powerful blogfests ever!!! I think it should become an annual event…at least!
Oh Natalie I agree. That was powerful, powerful Blogfest! If I wasn’t already breaking my own rules by including two of my favorite inspirational posts here I would have included Beauty of A Woman as my third choice. And BTW, YOU my dear friend, are pretty inspirational too. You SHINE!
Thanks so much for including me/my blog for YA MUSES in your post, Kate! So appreciated. And I’m going to check out the ones you–and the folks above–mentioned, as well.
Great stuff!
Lorin
You’re welcome Lorin. I enjoyed your post so much; “It can be done” has become one of my mantras. I’m so happy you stopped by. Thanks!
At last I get over here!! Thanks for keeping the party open for me, Kate.
I’ve been busy having a week of gluten-withdrawal (seriously) – headaches, brain fog, cranky mood…thank the Lord it’s getting better.
Anywho, isn’t the Linky Love fun?? It’s always a blast to see who is doing what. I’ve got lots of fave blogs of mine, but I’d rather talk about someone else.
First off, I’ll echo that August and Natalie both rock the house. I also enjoy the Wordbitches, particularly Leanne Shirtliffe who introduced me to them with this post:

I also dig The Bloggess – there’s very little she writes that doesn’t make me laugh. Ditto to Chuck Wendig. His post this last week, 25 Things I Want To Say to “Aspiring” Writers is a must-read:

Enjoy! I hope you get many more fab links.
Thanks Jenny! Sorry to hear about the gluten withdrawals. I know it has to be difficult but in the long run, so worth the effort. I’m going to check these links out. Anything with the word bitch in it has to be daring and informative. LOL Chuck and The Bloggess are always on my radar but can you believe I haven’t checked in? Now I simply must do it. Thanks for coming by!
By the way, that Writers In The Storm is me, Jenny Hansen. Sorry…forgot I was logged in differently.
